September 2003:   IT'S BEEN AN EXCITING AND HECTIC YEAR and 10 months since the last newsletter! This issue titled:  "BEGINNING A NEW ERA!"   introduced MICRO-LOBSTERS as Fuku-Bonsai's second major specialty,  LIVING LOVABLES,  and the FUKU-BONSAI MAHALO MIX & MATCH SPECIAL! It also introduced Richard Boggs and "Root-Loop" in one of his pots.

November 2003:  Our Mahalo-Christmas Issue and although just a few months after the previous issue, there was a huge amount of information on both of the new MICRO-LOBSTER project (including a 6-month report) and the new potted LIVING LOVABLE line. Both were successful!  Angela Tillman reported on her second bonsai series of classes and several correspondents reported on their successes. We introduced our sister non-profit Mid-Pacific Bonsai Foundation, bid farewell to Ham, introduced the complex "Wire-Ladder" training technique that make our dramatic rock plantings possible.  And we began a series on learning to grow bonsai from seeds!

Summer 2004:  It's been a long and hectic time since the last FBnews and the bonsai world mourns the passing of John Naka. But even as we pay tribune to John, it's necessary to also thank the special "World War II Generation" that gave us the platform for the wonderful opportunities and life that all of us enjoy today!  This is partially reflected in the creation of the Hawaii State Bonsai Repository.  As the bonsai torch is being passed to a new generation, we congratulate Jerry Meislik on the publication of his new book Ficus, The Exotic Bonsai, and report upon the eventful week he spent at Fuku-Bonsai. There were two major educational articles on "Pruning" and "Reduction-Building II!" "Pathways to Fantasy" introduced a new concept of bonsai as art!
Fuku-Bonsai poured huge energy into researching Micro-Lobsters and in the process, making a large number of breakthoughs!  In a very short time, Fuku-Bonsai has emerged as the world Micro-Lobster leader producing the finest units with a number of reports that the breeding tanks are reproducing! The trials clearly show that a smaller one-quart OPAE-ULA DESKTOP UTOPIA has exceptional long-life potential as a very compact carry-home unit that can be produced at a more attractive retail price! Almost all of the Micro-Lobster website was updated, enlarged, or refined.  It's a huge FBnews issue!

November 2004: There's a lot of meaty bonsai content in this issue on preparing bonsai stock, creating ideal indoor potting mixes, and Chinese penjing training concepts. There's an update by Kathy and a progress report on Jerry Meislik's Mahalo.
There's also a large amount of new Micro-Lobster information including basic anatomy, the anchialine ponds, epigeal and hypogeal environments, an introduction to the predator metabataeus, an update by Carrie, Sam Gon's page on reproduction, Guy Inouye's page, egg and larvae recommendations, the legend of Wainapanapa, and the introduction of the BT-2 Educational Breeder Tank!   This is another HUGE FBnews issue!

Spring 2005:  The focus of the bonsai section was on workshops with an outstanding report by Dr. Barry Grayson and the introduction of new workshop packages.  We mourn the passing of Hong Kong grand master Yee-sun Wu. There's a short ficus article, a lava update, and an introduction to a new Hawaii-Alaska connection.
There was again a lot of new Micro-Lobster information with an impressive photo gallery by Bryan Yoshimura, a record captive breeding report by David Chung, introducing Dr. John Chan and the Pohiki Pond, a report on the first mixed tank, and the newest Pohiki mixed tank.
Summer-Fall 2005.  The bonsai section discussed three major new styling options available from Fuku-Bonsai.  It reviewed the restyling of the logo tree and the entry tree and introduced a new portal featuring the contributions of Jerry Meislik of Montana.
The Micro-Lobster website featured articles on first aid and crashproofing the tanks. Also the introduction of pipipi snails and a request for support to obtain approval for rotenone as a tool to remove alien predators from the anchialine ponds.
Summer 2006:  Fuku-Bonsai continues to expand and announces a flat rate $10 shipping fee for any first and second item, but when three or more items are sent to one US address, shipping is free! The Fuku-Bonsai eBay Store was introduced.  The major article was Michael's continuing challenge and there were nice stories of our Fuku-Bonsai Alaska team and Bill Synder's report on creating aerial roots.
Micro-Lobster news focused on the Scott Santos report and proposing an opae'ula preservation-conservation strategic plan based upon it. Anthropods, another creature of the pond was introduced and Dale Paris shared setting up his Showstopper Breeder Tank.
