In partnership with the 501(3)(c) Mid-Pacific Bonsai Foundation, the Fuku-Bonsai Cultural Center & Hawaii State Bonsai Repository is a bonsai visitor attraction where you can enjoy: 1. THE PUBLIC BONSAI COLLECTION. This is the most varied major collection of artistic pot plants including award-winning Japanese bonsai, the acclaimed Chinese penjing in the U.S., the first generation of tropical outdoor bonsai that differed from Japanese "pine-tree concepts," and the original trees that pioneered True Indoor Bonsai. It includes memorial bonsai trained by past Hawaii bonsai masters (in the Hawaii State Bonsai Repository) and specimen bonsai created at Hawaiian conventions or by visiting international bonsai masters including Japan's Saburo Kato, California's John Naka, Hawaii's Haruo Kaneshiro, and many others. The collection is known for its Banyan (Ficus) Bonsai, "sumo, roots, and Hawaiian dragon stylings," rock plantings, and especially for 360° complex landscapes. The bonsai artifact, historical, and educational exhibits provide an introduction to the world of bonsai with an emphasis on Fuku-Bonsai's True Indoor Bonsai Dwarf Schefflera specialty. We began growing Dwarf Schefflera as bonsai from when it was first introduced in the early 1970's and our Dwarf Schefflera Bonsai are outstanding and oldest in the world. 2. CERTIFIED BONSAI FOR SALE.
