-
FUKU-BONSAI BEGINS A NEW ERA!
-
In 1989, Fuku-Bonsai spray defective Benlate
that was contaminated with weed killers and this caused over $30
million of damages. DuPont really beat up on us and we
received only less than 10% of our losses. But we survived and
will be expanding once we refinance.

- Bonsai record,
articles, awards, etc.
-
Fuku-Bonsai's history has been euphoric peaks and challenging valleys. Our efforts to
build the Kona Fuku-Bonsai Center failed when defective fungicide decimated the Kurtistown
nursery. But we survived, rebuilt, and continue legal efforts to collect damages.

An introduction and
recommendation to join the
-
AMERICAN BONSAI
SOCIETY
- As one of the oldest active members
for over 40 years, David Fukumoto and Fuku-Bonsai have an
association with the American Bonsai Society since the late 1960's.
The society is a major force in promoting and assistingg in
developing a truly American form of bonsai and my best in-depth
articles were published in the ABS Journal. As we
complete recovery I committed to write an article in each issue
beginning with their Spring 2009 issue.

- REDUCTION-BUILDING:
-
creating exceptional stock material!
-

material is based upon this training concept. The photo shows plants that developed from
our first 1981 introductory public demonstration.

 |
- The Pre-Styling
Session
-
It takes a lot of preparation
and pre-training to develop bonsai stock. In spite of any and all spectacular
staged public presentations, it's not a magical one-time creation. Here's a
"behind-the-scenes" activity of what it takes to develop high potential stock.

- A Gallery of
