Fukumoto granddaughter Nicole Young introduced HS8 and HD8 in 1997.         DWARF SCHEFFLERA!  Our most popular items with multiple growth points and "character!"  Care is simple.  For the small size, twice per week, soak the rock in water and replace it in the saucer.  Or just add 1/4" of water to the dish and add more when it dries out. Don't allow the plants to totally dry. You'll have to water a bit more often with air-conditioning or heating.  Desk, medium, and large sizes should be okay with a 30-minute saturation watering. 

 

            Increasingly, customers are recommending 1 drop of Schultz Plant Food per quart of water EVERY TIME YOU WATER!   This "ENRICHED WATER" concept is proving far superior than not fertilizing at all and fertilizing only when a plant is suffering.  Fertilizing when the plants are in poor condition often causes "over-fertilizing" problems.   2, 3, or even 4 drops of Schultz Liquid Plant Food per quart of water can be given during the summer growing season IF YOU HAVE GOOD STRONG WINDOW LIGHT.  For those in hard water areas,  distilled water is recommended to prevent rocks and pots from developing a "white mold" or mineral build-up.

PACHIRA   (Pachira aquatica)

                This is a very durable plant that is a member of the Boabob family that develops a heavy, bulbous trunk to make it drought resistent.  But, as a plant that grows in rainforests, it is also able to handle being over watered!  It's amongst the most durable of all houseplants!   Our unique training method creates very large trunks and these are often sold out.   Limited quantities are available again.

	Pachira is a unique tropical plant that is grown from seeds of trees grown at Fuku-Bonsai.  The flowers are beautiful "powder-puffs"  and the seed pods begin to form shortly after the flowers fall.  The seed pods resemble Cacao pods. BRASSAIA (Brassaia actinophylla)

                The common name is Schefflera, Octopus Tree, or Queensland Umbrella Tree.   They are tough plants that are popular with those who tend to forget to water. BUT DON'T OVER WATER!  These like to dry out a bit between waterings.

DRACAENA (Dracaena marginata)

                Our LOW-LIGHT CHAMP!  To grow True Indoor Bonsai compact with a lot of character, the more light the better!  Give plants a lot of light near windows or with supplemental artificial light.  But what if your home or office doesn't have windows and the only light is the fluorescent tubes on the ceiling? 

                That's when Dracaena will out-perform Brassaia or Dwarf Schefflera.  It's a different concept.  Instead of growing short and stocky, allow Dracaena to grow tall without pruning.  The lower the light, the more slender and elegant the leaves! These are our favorite gifts for non-plant people.  They're easy-care and very durable . . .   almost "customer-proof!"

                Shipping to Alaska,  Guam, and PO Box addresses shall be by US Postal Air Priority Mail.   There is a $15 Arizona Phytosanitary Certificate for each Arizona address.

If you do not hear from us within 48 hours, send a copy to our email address for follow-up.
